About/Showroom

What are your hours of operation?

Our showroom is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and we are closed on Sundays.

Is there someone in the showroom that can help me with the mobility products?

Yes, there will be someone available in our showroom to assist you with your mobility product needs.

Can you deliver the mobility equipment to my home?

Yes, we offer delivery services for mobility equipment to your home.

Purchasing & Payment

Do you offer a Military or Veterans Discount on mobility products?

Yes, we offer a 3.0% Military or Veterans Discount on mobility products.

Do you offer financing options on mobility equipment?

Yes, we offer financing options for mobility equipment.

Do you offer a senior discount on mobility equipment?

No, we do not offer senior discounts on mobility equipment.

Do you ever offer discounts or specials on mobility equipment?

Yes, we run monthly specials on particular mobility equipment such as scooters, power chairs, and bath safety equipment.

Do you accept health insurance?

No, we do not accept health insurance for mobility equipment purchases.

I’m on a limited budget. Do you have inexpensive products?

We try our best to work within your budget and offer affordable options depending on your specific needs.

Do you buy used mobility equipment?

No, we do not buy used mobility equipment.

What is your return policy on mobility equipment?

Our products fall under the category of Durable Medical Equipment, and as such, are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

Rentals

What type of equipment do you rent?

We offer rental options for Scooters, Wheelchairs, Power Chairs, Knee Walkers, Hospital Beds, Transport Chairs, and Lift Chairs.

How long do I need to rent the equipment for?

Our rental periods are flexible, and you can rent our equipment for up to a month at a time. However, we also offer daily, weekend, weekly, or other customized rental rates based on your needs.

Can you deliver rented mobility products?

Yes, we offer delivery services for rented mobility products for an additional fee based on the distance from our location.

Do you have a delivery fee for rentals?

Yes, there is a delivery fee for renting mobility equipment from Mobility City of Detroit, MI, and it is based on the distance from our location.

Can you deliver and pick up rented products to the hotel we are staying at?

Yes, we can deliver and pick up rented mobility products to your hotel as long as you are a registered guest.

Do you offer insurance for rentals?

No, we do not offer insurance for rented mobility equipment.

Can my rental charge go towards a purchase?

Yes, only the first month’s rental fee is applied towards the purchase price of the mobility equipment. For instance, if you rented a scooter for three months, only the first month’s rental fee will be applied towards the purchase price.

Do you provide rentals for any local airports?

Yes, we deliver rented mobility equipment to the local airport (Detroit Metro/DTW).

How do I arrange a rental at DTW airport?

Contact Mobility City of Metro Detroit! You can reach us through our website or call 1-313-914-3020 to reserve a rental.

Where is pickup and dropoff when renting a product at DTW airport?

Generally, at baggage claim for your particular airline, or the hotel valet at the airport.

Do you provide rentals for any local cruises or ports?

Not directly. Customers can rent mobility equipment and take them with them for their cruise.

Where is pickup and dropoff when renting for a cruise?

Customers need to pick up locally, and take with them on their trip.

Repairs

Can you fix my broken products and equipment at my home?

Yes we can! Contact us through our website or call us at 1-313-914-3020.

Does your mobility equipment service truck come to my area to do repairs?

Yes it does! We come to you!

Do you service electric scooters?

Yes we do service electric scooters that are considered durable medical equipment. We do not service scooters that are deemed recreational.

Do I need to schedule an appointment to bring my mobility equipment in for repair?

You can if you like, however you may need to drop off with us to do the repair.

Technicians

Do your Technicians work for your company and do they have background checks?

Yes, they are employed by Mobility City of Metro Detroit and have submitted to background checks.

Have your Technicians received the Covid-19 vaccination?

Yes, our Technicians are vaccinated.

Are you insured in case of damage in my home?

Yes, our Techs are insured.

In-Home Delivery

Where do you deliver mobility equipment to?

We provide White Glove Delivery Service (WGD) to our customers for new mobility equipment. We service the Metropolitan Detroit area

How soon can you deliver mobility equipment to my home?

Once mobility equipment is purchased (and delivered if necessary. I.e., Stairlift) we will contact you to schedule a WGD or installation

Does your mobility equipment service truck come to my area?

We come to you! Our truck is beautifully wrapped in our Red, White & Blue color scheme and our company name Mobility City!

Products & Equipment

Do you carry bathroom safety equipment?

Yes we do!

Can I pay you over the phone for products and services at my parents’ home?

Yes you can!

Do you repair products bought from other companies?

Yes we do!

Can you come to my home, apartment, or assisted living facility to repair my equipment?

We come to you! Our truck is beautifully wrapped in our Red, White & Blue color scheme and our company name Mobility City!

My batteries no longer charge. Do you carry replacements?

We do carry batteries for almost all makes and models of Mobility (Scooters, Power Chairs, etc.) and Access (Stairlifts, Elevator lifts, etc.)

Do you carry lithium replacement batteries?

Currently we do not carry Lithium batteries, however we can order them for you.

Can I just buy the batteries myself?

Yes you can!

Do you sell chargers?

We do sell chargers!

Will you purchase used mobility equipment?

We do not purchase used mobility equipment.

Do you have mobility equipment to see and test in your showroom?

Yes we do! Mobility City of Metro Detroit is an industry leader with our variety and selection of mobility equipment! We are a dealer for the most popular brands in the market (Golden, Pride, Drive, etc.)!

Do you honor a manufacturer’s warranties on mobility equipment?

We do! One of our 1st actions when working on a repair is to determine if the mobility device is under warranty. Our labor, however, is not covered under warranty.

Do you carry and service bariatric mobility equipment?

We do!

Sanitization

What products can you sanitize?

We sanitize manual mobility equipment using a steam cleaner! Our steamer heats up to 220 degrees and kills 99% of pathogens. We also as part of a scooter tune up or repair, “detail” it before it’s returned to the customer.

Will sanitization ruin, rust, or fade my equipment?

It will not

What kind of chemicals are used when sanitizing?

Steam!

How often should my equipment be sanitized?

Generally that is up to the usage by the customer. For example if a customer uses their mobility equipment heavily/regularly, they may need it sanitized monthly.

Can you sanitize equipment at my home or do I need to come to your store?

We can sanitize equipment either in our store or a customer’s residence!

    Great service and great scooters rented 1 for a week went to the UP and it was great rode all day long only 1 day out of 7 did the battery go below 3 bars. Great battery. Will be using them again!
